Obituary

Benoit A. Goulet, 70, of Manchester, died February 18, 2006, after a valiant battle with cancer.

He was born in Canada, March 3, 1935, and was the son of Odilon and Angeline (Gagné) Goulet.

He worked as a glazier for Salem Glass Co. in Salem, MA, Karas & Karas in Dorchester, MA, and United Glass Co. in Manchester. After retirement he enjoyed doing carpentry and keeping himself busy as a handyman. He enjoyed helping others. He and his wife enjoyed vacationing in Florida every winter since his retirement.

Mr. Goulet was a very active parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. He was a member of L’Association Canado Americaine, and the Rimmon Club. He also belonged to the Legion of One Thousand Men of the Monastery of the Precious Blood and was President of Court St. George.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who loved doing things with his family and grandchildren.

Family members include his wife of 46 years, Simone (Plante) Goulet of Manchester; a son, Jacques Goulet of Auburn; two daughters, Mrs. Serge (Lucie) Laprise of Manchester and their children Paige and Andrew, Mrs. Greg (Sylvie) Smith of Goffstown and their son, Nathan; two brothers, Leandre Goulet of New York, and Denis Goulet of Canada; eight sisters, Therese Belanger, Colette Belanger, both of Canada, Louisette Gagnon of Maine, Lorraine Tardif, Rachel Cameron, both of Canada, Marcelle Patry of Hooksett, NH, Nicole Janssen, and Raymonde Jalbert, both of Canada; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Normande Richard, and Candide Racine.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday February 23, 2006 at Sacred Heart Church. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
