Obituary

Ernesto Martiniello passed away peacefully at the Winchester Hospital on Monday afternoon. He was 85. Born and raised in Mirabella, Avellino, Italy, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Raffaella (Pellegrino) Martiniello. Ernesto came to the United States and settled in Medford in 1964. He was a hardworking man and belonged to Local 151, working in construction until his retirement. Upon retiring, he worked several years doing maintenance at the Court Yard Nursing Home, in Medford. Ernesto was a devoted family man. His beloved wife passed away in 2013. He was close to all of his relatives and loved spending time with his daughters and especially his grandchildren. Ernesto kept a beautiful garden, made wine every year, and looked forward to cooking and having his family and friends over for delicious barbecues. In recent years, he went to visit his sister-in-law, Angie, every morning for coffee. He was a decent man and a friend to many.

The beloved husband of the late Grazia (Mattaliano) Martiniello, he was a devoted father to Josephine Olsen and her husband Michael of Saugus, and Joanne Martiniello. He was a loving grandfather to Michael and Katelin Olsen and Jeffrey Murphy. Ernesto was a dear brother of Carmen Martiniello of Medford, Jerry Martiniello of Woburn, Mario Martiniello of Wilmington, Chiara Rossetti of Medford, and the late Giuseppe Martiniello. He also leaves many dear nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and burial for Ernesto will be private. A mass for Ernesto will be celebrated at a later date.
