Obituary

Americo G. Donatio, 87, of Derry, NH died February 17, 2006 in Salemhaven Nursing Home, Salem, NH. He was born in Cambridge, MA on March 25, 1918, the son of Attilio and Maria (Gugletti) Donatio. Raised in Cambridge, MA, he was a resident of Malden, MA most of his life. He moved to Derry, thirteen years ago. Prior to his retirement in 1982, he had been employed as a meatcutter by the former First National Stores for more than 45 years. Mr. Donatio was an Army veteran of World War II. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Elizabeth (O’Connell) Donatio in July 2002.

Family members include a daughter, Mary Louise Donatio and her husband, Richard Guider of Derry; a son, Paul Donatio of Wareham, MA,; six grandchildren;, 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Albert Donatio of Everett, MA;, three sisters, Carmella Errico of Winchester, MA, Josephine DiTrapano of Wakefield, MA and Barbara Witham of Saugus MA; nieces and nephews.

There were no calling hours. A committal service was held at Puritan Lawn Park Cemetery, 185 Lake St., Peabody MA Monday, February 20th at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Portsmouth/Derry/Salem Home Health & Hospice Services, 1E Commons Dr., Unit 31, Londonderry, NH 03053.
