Obituary

Janice K. Baze was born in Sunnyside, WA on August 23, 1952 to Marilyn and Lenzie Sizemore. She passed away May 10, 2020 after contracting COVID-19.
She spent her primary school years in Caldwell, ID before the family moved back to Prosser, WA where she graduated in 1970. Her working career included a job as a clerk at the Benton County Courthouse, a guard at the Corrections Facility in Kennewick, driving school bus, and waitressing at the Blue Goose Restaurant. In her later years she enjoyed para work for the school district.
The last year of Janice’s life was filled with fun and lived to the fullest! She enjoyed attending all the activities her grandchildren and great-nieces were involved in, volunteering at the Prosser Community Center and socializing with her many friends and neighbors. Janice was active almost every day, even if it was just a walk around the neighborhood with her dogs Twinkie and Ellie, stopping to talk to her many friends/neighbors along the way. Janice also enjoyed honing her artistic abilities, often creating portraits with a personal touch for friends and family. Her latest project included refurbishing a camp trailer with her best friend Sam Cohu for future adventures!
Janice was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and was very active with her church family at Anchor Point Christian Fellowship. Her faith was strong and her belief in God rubbed off on everyone around her. Janice was a naturally thoughtful, kind and loving person, which was especially evident in how she cared for others in their time of need. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents Marilyn and Lenzie Sizemore. She is survived by her sons Travis (Taryn) Baze and Justin (Jessica) Baze; her 4 grandchildren Dock Baze, Kryssa Baze, Teagan Baze and AdaLynn Baze; Brother Jim and wife, Nancy (Kayser); Brother Jay and wife, Joy (Jensen); Sister Judy and husband Bud Stanton; nieces, Jody Stanton; Stacy Sizemore and her husband Ryan, great-niece KateyJay Sizemore; nephews Will (Kellie) Sizemore and family, Wade (Danielle) Stanton and family; Cori Sizemore Kane and her husband, Mark and family.
