Obituary

Margaret “Margie” Raymond, 67, of Salem MA lost her courageous battle with cancer on April 26, 2020 . After a prolonged stay at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Margie was able to spend her last 9 days at her beloved home on Brooks Street under the diligent care of her personal army of two which consisted of her devoted husband, David, and her sister Mary. During this time Margie was able to sit on her cherished sun porch which allowed her to spend time with her immediate and extended family while she smiled and enjoyed the support around her. Also while sitting on the sun porch Margie witnessed the early spring growth of the treasured garden on Brooks Street which she shared with her mother, Mary.
Margie who was the second child to Lionel and Mary Pelletier was born on Jan 31, 1953 in Frankfurt Germany. Strong family roots resulted in a life-long attachment to Castle Hill where her next 7 siblings were born. Margie attended St. Anne's school and church. Margie graduated from Salem High School where she met her husband David Raymond who she shared 46 years of marriage with. David and Margie raised their two devoted children, David and Melissa, in their Brooks Street home. Margie worked at the family restaurant, Dube's, for many years until her illness this summer. While at Dube’s Margie gained the love of co-workers and loyal patrons alike. Margie’s wide smile and bright glistening eyes will never be forgotten by anyone who crossed her path.
Margie’s passions were gardening, cooking, classic rock music, boating with her son and being surrounded by her family. Margie was not only a great wife, daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend but she was also a stellar grandparent who loved to spend any free moment she had with her two grandchildren, Aiden and Madeline. Margie loved gardening and cooking with Madeline and she loved to watch Aiden play hockey. Both grandchildren looked forward to when “Nanny” would pick them up from school because she always had a fun event for them to partake in. Margie’s bond between her mother, husband, siblings, children and grandchildren cannot ever be broken.
Margie is survived by her husband David, her son David and fiance, Allison McCormack, her daughter Melissa and son-in law Brian St.Pierre, her cherished grandchildren, Aiden and Madeline, Mother Mary Pelletier of Salem, brothers Rich Pelletier of Nahant and David and Judy Pelletier of Elliot ME, her beloved sisters, Mary Pelletier of Marblehead, Monica Froese and Rich Martin of Addison ME, Martha and Mark Petit of Salem , Maureen and Michael Kapnis of Salem, Myra and Bill Coletti of Gloucester, Mona and Rick Noone of Salem, Pearl Tilton of Georgetown, and Milton Raymond and Mary Moody of Shapleigh ME, and many nieces and nephews.

For those who know this family, you understand how unnatural and unbearable this feels. For those who have lost loved ones during this difficult time, you are in our thoughts as well.
