Carl F. Zajicek, passed away due to complications from Covid-19, on Sunday May 3, 2020, at the age of 70. He was surrounded by his family who loved him. Carl was born on December 24, 1949 in Lawrence Massachusetts. He was a son to Frank and Adeline (Sweeney) Zajicek. Carl spent his childhood in Lawrence and graduated from Greater Lawrence Technical High School in 1967. He quickly joined the United States Air Force in 1968 and served during the Vietnam War as a Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Specialist.

After serving his country, Carl met Diane Troianello and the two were married on August 17, 1975. After starting his family in their first home on Bedard Ave in Derry NH, Carl helped build his final family home in 1990 on Overledge dr in Derry. Carl made his living as a machinist, and spent his free time riding bikes and camping with his 3 daughters or on woodworking projects in his downstairs workshop. Carl also had such a love for music, he could pick up any instrument and play it. The accordion and organ were his favorites.

Carl loved taking vacations with his family, up to the mountains, to Germany, or down to Disney World and he rarely missed a year. He would always visit his twin sister Carol in Florida, they loved to sit and talk out on her patio, or watch horror movies together. Like Disney, Carl rarely missed the annual Oktoberfest and everyone there new him by name in his signature green German hat. Carl loved any reason to go out, whether it be an Air Show, Rib fest, or even a play, if it was going on he was calling his daughters to take him. Carl loved telling stories to anyone who would listen, and he had the biggest laugh.

In his later years Carl took a job at the VA Hospital in Manchester NH, where he spent 5 years until he retired in 2012. In retirement Carl loved spending time with his family and grandkids, he frequently had all his daughters and their families over for dinner, and enjoyed his trips to the Old Salt at Hampton Beach with his wife Diane and sister in law Vina.
