Herbert R. Deming, Jr., 69, died at the Hollywell Nursing Home in Randolph on Monday, February 13 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Merola) Deming. Born and educated in Halifax, Mr. Deming was a resident of Stoughton for 16 years. He worked as a sheet metal mechanic for the Ainslie Corp. in Braintree for 35 years before retiring in 2001. In his free time he loved the great outdoors.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Deming is survived by his children, Philip and Christopher Deming both of Brockton, Debra Deming of Wareham, Stephen Deming of Middleboro, Barbara Deming of FL and Diana Deming of NH, as well as his step-children, Laura Fedelia, Karen Gianni, Lisa Leverone and Brian Fulton. He is also survived by his brothers, Rudolph Goss of E. Bridgewater, George Goss of Middleboro and Velena Puckett of OK. He was preceded in death by his brother Elmer Deming.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, February 17 from 6-8 PM. Funeral Services will be private. Donation’s in Herbert’s name may be made to the American Heart Assn., 20 Speen St., Framingham, 01701.
