Penny L. (Swain) Fonseca, 41, of Dartmouth died July 9, 2002 at home after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was the wife of Joe L. Fonseca, daughter of Patricia (Holland) Heaps of Acushnet and Douglas Swain of Rochester, and step-daughter of Claudette (Verville) Swain of Rochester.
Mrs. Fonseca was born in New Bedford and had lived in Acushnet for most of her life before moving to Dartmouth 6 years ago.
She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband; her parents; her stepmother; a son, Ian Fonseca of Dartmouth; a daughter, Amanda Reusch of Whitefield, NH; 3 brothers, Robert Swain of Acushnet, Curtis Heaps of Attleboro and Justin Swain of New Bedford; a sister, Brenda Swain of Fairhaven; 2 grandchildren, Ashlie Hartung and Brandon Gladu, both of Whitefield, NH; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 13th at 9 AM in the Acushnet-Wesley United Methodist Church, 67 Main St. Acushnet. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are omitted.
