KENNETH C. HENRY OBITUARY

Kenneth “Kenny” C. Henry, age 86, formerly of Clymer and Purchase Line, PA, passed away peacefully at his residence at Maple Valley Personal Care Home, Indiana, PA, on Monday, April 27, 2020.

Kenny was born December 2, 1933 in Clymer, PA and resided there with his parents and brother through his high school years. While in High School, Kenny played baseball and was well known, at that time, for his talents especially his pitching talent.

He later enlisted in the Air Force, during the Korean War, where he repaired bombers and other aircraft as an aircraft mechanic.

After the war, he resided with his parents in Purchase Line, PA. During this time, he was employed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board as a store manager, managing the Homer City and Clymer, PA State Stores from which he retired.

Kenny was an active member of the East Mahoning Baptist Church in Purchase Line, PA his whole life and sang in their Cantata during the Christmas Season.

He was also a member of both the American Legion and Loyal Order of Moose.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur W. and Lenore (Knupp) Henry, of Purchase Line, PA and his brother, Edward A. Henry, of Girard, PA.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Helen S. Henry and niece, Darlene S. Henry, both of Girard, PA, nephew Edward A. (Leslie) Henry, Jr, of Rostraver Township, PA, great-nephew Evan (Amber) Henry, of West Newton, PA, great-niece, Alexa (Mitch) McCloskey, of Finleyville, PA and great-great-nieces Lily and Grace Henry of West Newton, PA.

Private arrangements are with the assistance of the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd of Hillsdale, PA. Interment will be at East Mahoning Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family asks that any donations be made to the East Mahoning Baptist Church, c/o Melissa Leasure, 86 Nashville Road, Rochester Mills, PA 15771.

Kenny always had a smile to brighten someone’s day and he will be sadly missed by his family and those who knew him.
