Obituary

Althea E. Rainville, 100, of Putnam Pike, Smithfield, died Sunday in her home at the Village at Waterman Lake, Smithfield. She was the wife of the late George Rainville. They had been married for 67 years.

Born in Everette, MA, a daughter of the late George W. and Florizel E. (Bearse) Clark. She had lived in Smithfield most of her life.

She had gotten great joy from her mini schnauzer, Sidney.

She leaves her children, Peter T. Rainville of Wasilla, AK, Brendon T. Rainville of Plaistow, NH, Elizabeth M. Octeau of Plainfield, CT, Paula M. Meegan of North Smithfield, Jeannine C. Fortin of Pascoag and Jo-Ann Raymond of Coventry. She was the grandmother of 13, Linda Hawkins, Debra Printer, Brian Octeau, Christopher Meegan, Kevin Meegan, David Fortin, Jared Fortin, Hannah Raymond, Morgan Raymond, Kelsey Raymond, Corey Rainville, Shannon Rainville and Gina, and great-grandmother of 15, Rachel Brito, Steven Ballirano, Matthew Ballirano, Hannah Hawkins, William Hawkins IV, Hailey Hawkins, Caroline Hawkins, Kyle Curley,, Lauren Lundy, Parker Octeau, Phoebe Octeau, Carolyn Meegan, Luke Meegan, Brayden Meegan, Jett Fortin and a great-great grandmother to 2, Gia Brito and Ruby Brito. She was the sister of the late George Clark, Robert Clark and Kenneth Clark and Evelyn Russell.

A private funeral was held. Burial was in Highland Park, Johnston. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917
