Obituary

CHICOPEE – David A. Touchette, 66, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, April 9, 2020. He passed into Eternal Life at Vero Health and Rehab of South Hadley surrounded by all the memories he loved and cherished. He was born in Holyoke on November 17, 1953, a beloved son of the late Lucien A. and Doris R. (Cadieux) Touchette. He was raised in Chicopee, attended Chicopee schools and was a lifelong Chicopee resident. He was employed locally as an ASE Certified Master Automotive Technician. An avid car enthusiast, he enjoyed visiting many local car shows and working on cars in his spare time at home. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed sharing his love and knowledge of fishing with them. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved companion and best friend, Marcia A. (Gevry) Pimpare with whom he lived in Chicopee; his two loving sons, Marc C. Touchette and his wife, Rebecca, of Watertown and Daniel M. Touchette of Chicopee; his two loving step-daughters, Tanya L. Gay and her husband, Albert, of Chicopee and Tracey L. Kavanagh and her husband, Byron, of Studio City, CA; his seven cherished grandchildren who will deeply miss their “Grandpa”, Robert and Benjamin Touchette, Myranda, Stephen and Owen Gay and Booker and Malley Kavanagh; his two dear brothers, Michael T. Touchette and his wife, Carol, of Chicopee and Philip F. Touchette and his wife, Michelle, of Ludlow; his caring niece, Heather Touchette of Ludlow; his caring nephew, Matthew Touchette of Springfield; his former wife, friend and mother to his three sons, Elise (Samson) Murphy of Chicopee; and his extended family members and friends. In addition to his beloved parents, he was predeceased by his loving son, Robert G. Touchette who was Called Home on April 10, 2004; and his dear brother, Thomas H. “Bozo” Touchette who was Called Home on April 6, 2001. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His funeral services are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
