James L. Regan, 63, of Fairhaven, formerly of New Bedford, died Sunday February 12, 2006 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Leo V. and Mary E. (Grayless) Regan, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life before moving to Fairhaven several years ago.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church.
Mr. Regan was formerly employed as the office manager for Jonathan Handy Company for many years. He had also been a self-employed income tax preparer for many years.
Survivors include a sister, Nancy M. Farnworth of Fairhaven; two nephews, Karl A. Farnworth, and his wife Lisa of Dartmouth and Kevin A. Farnworth, and his wife Doreen of New Bedford; two nieces, Kari E. Rossi, and her husband Thomas, of Fairhaven and Kristen B. Saunders, and her husband John, of New Bedford; and ten great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was the brother-in-law of the late Karl J. Farnworth, and nephew of the late Anthony and Beatrice Pimental.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Friday February 17, 2006 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Thursday February 16, 2006 from 4-8 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
