Walter Stanley, Jr. of Johnston, Rhode Island passed away at the age of 73 on Friday April 17, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Elaine A. Stanley (Tucker). They were married for 45 years and raised their children in the home where he grew up. Walter was a loving and devoted father to Adam J. Stanley and his wife Suzy Alba of Smithfield and Raebecca (Stanley) Riecke and her husband Andrew Riecke of Scituate. He leaves behind a four year old grandson Sawyer Stanley who he adored. He was the brother of William Stanley of FL and two sisters Fran DiBiasio and Diane Major, both of Johnston.
Walter worked for the Providence Gas Company for 34 years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He loved boating, spending many summers on the bay by Prudence and Patience Islands. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, and was a true animal lover. But most of all he cherished his family and friends. Walter will be buried with military honors at the Hopkins Mills Cemetery in Foster, RI. Visitation and burial will be private.
