Hayes of Brockton, February 10, 2006, Edward B. Hayes, 71 years. Beloved husband of Ann L. (Donahue) Hayes. Loving father of Lori Hayes of Brockton and Edward B. Hayes, Jr. and his wife Teresa of Middleboro. Grampa of Brendon, Ryan and Michael. Brother of Madelyn Venti of Brockton and Beverly MacTighe of Halifax.

Funeral Service in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 10:30 am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 pm.

Obituary

Mr. Hayes died unexpectedly Friday evening at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was born and raised in Brockton, a son of the late Benjamin and Evelyn (Harris) Hayes. He had been a lifelong resident of Brockton. During the Korean Conflict he served in the US Navy. Mr. Hayes retired as a stacker at the Shaws Warehouse in E. Bridgewater and previously he worked at Randy Boat Shoe in Randolph. He was an avid golfer and had played at Cedar Hill Golf Course in Stoughton. Mr. Hayes also enjoyed bowling and was on the men’s team in Randolph and at Maple Alleys, Brockton. Mr. Hayes loved to listen to music, read and calligraphy and was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.

He is survived by his wife Ann L. (Donahue) Hayes, a daughter, Lori Hayes of Brockton and a son, Edward B. Hayes, Jr. and his wife Teresa of Middleboro, three grandsons, Brendon, Ryan and Michael, two sisters, Madelyn Venti of Brockton and Beverly MacTighe of Halifax and many nieces and nephews.
