Obituary

Hazel (Bennett) Brock, 95, a Newton resident for over 50 years, passed away suddenly on Feb 3, 2006 in Leesburg, FL.
Born in Prince Edward Island, Canada she came to the US at age 17. She worked at the Carroll School in West Newton and graduated from Marlborough Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a private duty nurse until age 80. She was a member of the Newton Presbyterian Church in Newton for over 50 years and was active with the International Student Group of the Church. She also volunteered as a reader at the Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown and at the Horace Mann School in Newton. She served as assistant secretary of the Newton Housing Commission and was a member of the WW II Widows Veterans Assoc.
Wife of the late Henry Stuart Brock she is survived by her daughter Anne Sullivan of Leesburg FL, her daughter in law Barbara Brock of Nashua NH, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Richard Brock and Robert Brock.
A memorial service will be held on Fri Feb 17 at 12:30 PM in the Newton Presbyterian Church 75 Vernon St. Newton Corner. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
