Rose M. (Short) Benevides, age 81, of Taunton, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Morton Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Benevides.
Born in Yarmouth, MA on June 10, 1938, she was a loving daughter of the late Lewis L., Sr. and Lillian F. (Frazier) Short.
Rose grew up and was educated in Middleboro. She had made her home in Taunton for over fifty years and prior to retiring, had worked for over twenty-five years in the housekeeping department at Taunton State School.
Rose enjoyed spending time amongst family and friends. Her hobbies included crocheting and especially playing Bingo on Wednesday’s at the Taunton Housing Authority.
She is survived by her daughter Brenda Short of Taunton. She was the dear sister of Robert E. Short of West Wareham and the late Lewis L. Short, Jr. and Henry F. Short. She is also survived by her longtime caregiver and friend Raymond Green and his family of Taunton.
Services and burial will be private and visiting hours are omitted.
