Obituary

Vanagan “Van” John Goshdigian of Medford, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at the Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center. Born on July 5, 1924 in Chelsea, MA to John and Agnes (Krikorian) Goshdigian; Van was the youngest child of seven. Van was a WWII Veteran who proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946 as a signalman aboard the LCI(L) 479, LCI(L)477, LSM 438, USS Earle and the USS Robert H. Smith. Van married Marjorie Louise Allen on September 26, 1954. He worked as a motion picture projectionist for thirty years until his retirement. More recently, Van worked for twenty years at Stoneham Golf Course as a starter and ranger. He was an avid golfer and fan of the game. In addition to golf, Van enjoyed a good cigar and travel. He traveled to the Holy Land of Jerusalem, where he became a Hajji with his brother, Gabe. Van enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas with his wife and brother. Van is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marjorie (Allen) Goshdigian, his son Daniel (Joyce) Goshdigian, his daughter, Marjorie (Robert) Myron, Grandson, James (Kristin) Goshdigian, Granddaughter, Deanna (Kelly) Krummen, Great-Grandchildren, Patrick and McKenna Goshdigian, sister-in-law Mildred Marchand and many nieces and nephews. Van is preceded in death by his parents, John and Agnes, his four brothers, Danny, Gabe, Harry, Charlie, and his two sisters, Mary and Marion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Holy Trinity Armenian Church, 145 Brattle Street, Cambridge, MA or Compassus Hospice of North Andover. Funeral and cemetery arrangements are private. A memorial service will be announced at a future date, once the current COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted. Arrangements by Aram Bedrosian Funeral Home, Watertown.
