Sophia E. (Pavlakis) Giokas - Of St. Patrick's Manor, Framingham, formerly of the Wellesley Green, Feb. 9, 2006. Beloved wife of Anast W. Giokas for 68 years. Loving mother of William A. Giokas and his wife Cynthia Clayton Giokas of Holliston, Christine Gramenopoulos and her husband Nicholas of Fairfax Station, VA. Grandmother of Lisa, Erica and David Giokas, C. Gregory Gramenopoulos and his wife Maya, Steven Gramenopoulos and his wife Nicole and the late Ellen Gramenopoulos.
Funeral service in St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 57 Brown St. Weston on Wed. Feb. 15 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visitation prior to service in the church from 9 AM to 10 AM. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Sophia's memory to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.
She grew up on a farm in Enfield, CT with her 8 brothers and sisters who pre-deceased her. Graduate of Enfield High School, Class of 1934. She was an active and founding member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Weston and was a member of St. Demetrios Senior Guild.
