Obituary

MILLBURY___Aldona (Ilgunas) Brantas, 81, of Millbury died Saturday February 11 in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.

She leaves her husband of 60 years, Joseph Brantas, a son, Joseph V. Brantas of Millbury; three daughters, Ramune Greene of Worcester; Zita Danna and her husband Thomas of Charlton and Daina Irwin and her husband David of Shrewsbury; six grandchildren, Laurie, Stephanie, Nathan, Tony, Mark and Marissa and nephews and nieces. She was born in Kybartai, Lithuania, a daughter of Antanas and Magdelena (Friseviciute) Ilgunas and has lived here for 56 years.

Mrs. Brantas was a stitcher several years for Diane & Marion Co. She was a member of St. Casimir Church, Worcester and its church choir. Mrs. Brantas founded a Lithuanian dance ensemble for children and was active with charities that supported Lithuania. She was also a member of the Lithuanian Charitable Society and was a member of Ratelis / Penketukas.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday February 15 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., Worcester with a Mass at 12 NOON in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence St., Worcester. The committal service will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday February 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sunlight Orphan Aid, 414 Freehauf St., Lemont, IL 60439.
