William B. Stevens, Jr., 57, of Framingham died February 12, 2006 at Metro West Medical Center in Framingham after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
He was the husband of Epifania R. (Roman) Stevens.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late William B. and Rita (Pinto) Stevens, he lived in New Bedford and Boston before moving to Framingham in 1984.
Mr. Stevens was formerly employed as a principal for 15 years with the Boston Public School Department before retiring in 2000. He previously was a school teacher in the New Bedford Public School Department.
He served with the U.S. Marines Corps during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion Post #0462 in Framingham.
Mr. Stevens was a three time cancer survivor. He was an avid golfer and New York Yankees fan.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Eric S. Stevens and William B. Stevens III, both of Framingham; 3 brothers, Bruce F. Stevens of Wareham, Robert M. Stevens of Bristol, RI, and Michael B. Stevens of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Kathleen M. Stevens of Truro, and Barbara E. Stevens of Provincetown; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Richard W. Stevens.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, Saturday February 18, 2006 at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Friday February 17, 2006 from 4-8 PM.
