WEBSTER – Mary G. Saunders, RN, age 87, of 22 Nelson St., died Friday, Feb. 10, in Oakwood Rehab & Nursing Center after an illness.
She leaves a sister, Janet S. Brown of Webster; a niece, Anne M. Brown of Webster; and a nephew, William J. Brown, Jr., of Woburn. She was preceded in death by her sister Esther Saunders.
She was born and raised in Webster, a daughter of Dr. Thomas H. and Anne (Mullan) Saunders. She graduated from St. Louis High School. After a year of study at St. Francis Children’s Hospital in West Hartford, she graduated from St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester as a registered nurse. She lived in Dudley for many years before moving back to Webster.
Miss Saunders was the school and public health nurse in Dudley for many years, retiring in 1978.
She was a member of Saint Louis Church. She enjoyed baking and cooking.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, Feb. 15, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., with a Mass at 11:30 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dudley. A calling hour will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday, Feb. 15, in the funeral home.
