AUGUSTA – Mr. Billy Lamar Simpson, 69, entered into rest on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at his residence.
A memorial service officiated by Pastor Kevin Jones will be scheduled at a later date. Burial will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
A friend to many, Billy was a devoted husband and follower of Christ. He enjoyed listening to gospel music and was happiest when involved in church activities and visitation. He was a member and Deacon at Crestview Baptist Church, and a previous member of Lake Park Baptist Church. He retired in 2007 from Baker Distributing.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary G. Simpson, his sisters Diane (JW) McClellan and Shirley Watts; his brothers Danny (Julie) Simpson and James (Tanya) Simpson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William L. and Leona H. Simpson.
