Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Rose (Riggio) Rondeau, 74, of the Sixteen Acres section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, April 2, 2020. She entered into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in the Village of Locri, Calabria, Italy on July 4, 1945, a beloved daughter of the late Salvatore and Emilia (Marzano) Riggio. She was raised in Locri, graduated from Locri schools and immigrated to Springfield in 1963 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed for many years at The Home Depot in Wilbraham. During her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking and trying her luck at the local casinos. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She leaves her four loving children, AnnMarie Miller of Medway, Sandra A. Fraser and her husband, Brian, of North Eastham, Thomas P. Rondeau Jr. and his wife, Rosaly, of Chicopee and Joseph D. Rondeau and his wife, Jennifer, of Bensalem, PA; several cherished grandchildren; her cherished great-granddaughter; her former husband, Thomas P. Rondeau of West Springfield; her three dear brothers and four dear sisters both locally and in Italy, Pietro, Antonio, Vincenzo and Ines Riggio, Franca and Marisa Russo and Grace Prestera; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. Her funeral services and burial will be private. The St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107 is assisting her family.
