Joan M. (Phillips) Buontempo, of Winthrop passed away on March 31, 2020. She was 83 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard E. Buontempo. Born in Chelsea, MA, she was the cherished daughter of the late George C. and Anna (Seavey) Phillips.
Prior to her retirement, Joan was an accounts payable clerk for the Marson Co., an auto body parts supply store and she also worked in Jordan Marsh as a sales clerk. She was a member of the Winthrop Yacht Club, the Gold Diggers Bowling League of Lynn and the Winthrop Senior Center.
Joan was the devoted mother of Karen M. Reeves of Winthrop and the late Richard Buontempo. Adored grandmother of Jill, Lisa, Richard, Patrick, Joseph and the late Sean. Dear sister of Anne Alpert of NH. and the late Ruth Cassidy, Thomas C. Phillips and Henry Phillips. Sister-in-law of Rose T. Phillips of Chelsea.
