Obituary

CHICOPEE – Judith A. (Buckley) Delude Kruzel, 80, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on January 28, 1940, a beloved daughter of the late Daniel B. Buckley who was Called Home in 1992 and Rita T. (Garvey) Buckley who was Called Home in 1978. She was raised in Chicopee, attended Chicopee Public Schools, Holyoke Catholic High School and Holyoke Community College. In 1958, she was privileged to become the first Colleen to represent the City of Chicopee in the Holyoke Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. She was employed for over 29 years as a para-professional for the Chicopee School Department. She taught in Chapter One and also in the Writing to Read Computer Lab at the Patrick E. Bowe Elementary School and retired in 1997. She previously worked at the Hampden County Superior Court in Springfield. She was a communicant at the Basilica of Saint Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr in Chicopee. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Chicopee Fire Department Captain Casimir W. Kruzel who was Called Home in 1993; her beloved daughter, Kathleen A. Delude who was Called Home in 2016; and her dear brother, Daniel J. Buckley who was Called Home in 1992. She leaves her two loving sons, Daniel E. Delude and his partner, Denise Bissonnette, of Springfield and Stephen M. Delude and his wife, Louise, of Belchertown; her five dear step-children, Michael Kruzel and his wife, Katherine, of Southampton, Maryann Duda of Chicopee, Carl Kruzel and his wife, Jay, of Chicopee, David Kruzel of Agawam, and Joseph Kruzel and his wife, Arlene, of Hampden; her five cherished granddaughters, Jamie T. Delude, Kelly A. Baker and her husband, Sean, Katherine M. Delude, Alyssa J. Delude and Christina D. Delude; her cherished great-grandson, Elijah Frank Baker; numerous step-grandchildren; and her many dear nephews, nieces and friends. Her funeral services are private.
