Donald C. Preston, 71, of Methuen, MA, passed away at his home on Wednesday April 1, 2020 with his loving wife by his side following his valiant and gracious battle with metastatic prostate cancer. He was born in Derry, NH on March 23, 1949, son of the late Francis S. Preston and Doris (Abbott) Preston. Donald was a United States Army Veteran who proudly served his country. He was stationed in South Korea during the Vietnam War era. He was employed as a Materials Planner for many years at Digital Equipment Corportion, finishing his career at OSI in Andover, MA. Donald was a dedicated family man and enjoyed researching his family genealogy.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Suncha (Yim) Preston of Methuen; son, Donald J. Preston and partner Christine Prescott and their son Nicholas of Hampstead, NH; daughter, Margaret Ann Haggett and husband Dale Haggett of Derry; two grandsons, Cody Haggett, Tyler Haggett; brother, Richard Preston of Laconia, NH; sister, Gloria Dike of North Carolina as well as several nieces and nephews.
Donald was predeceased by his siblings Francis Preston, James Preston, Bruce Preston, Arlene Palmer, Natalie Dinsmore and Robert Preston.
Following his cremation, there will be no services at this time. Burial will be held at a later date at NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy., Boscawen, NH. The Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium is assisting the family with arrangements.
