Roland A. Boisvert, 91, of New Bedford died Friday February 10, 2006 at home. He was the husband of Loretta J. (Cyr) Boisvert; they had been married for 61 years.
Born in Acushnet, the son of the late Alfred and Regina (Tremblay) Boisvert, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in New Bedford.
Mr. Boisvert was formerly employed as an inspector for the Satkin Mills until his retirement in 1970.
He was a former member of Le Cotillon, Inc., the Royal Travelers, Association Canado-Americaine, and L'Union St. Jean Baptiste.
Survivors include his wife; a niece, Sharon L. Barton of New Bedford; a nephew, Peter C. Cyr of Dayton, Texas; four grandnieces, Jennifer, Melissa, Amy, and Lara, and a grandnephew, Adrian; and five great-grandnieces, Mikayla, Carly, Maranda, Maddie Lynn, and Lexi; and two great-grandnephews, James and Baron.
He was the brother of the late Donat Boisvert, Ernest Boisvert, Alfred Boisvert, Henry Boisvert, Viola Roy Chandonet and Aldea Dupont, and uncle of the late David A. Cyr and Claire Lemos.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday February 14, 2006 at 8:30 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 9:30 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Monday February 13, 2006 from 4-7 PM. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
