Eddie Lane Ray, Sr., 72, of Sylvester passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at his daughter’s residence in Tifton. A private graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Ray on Saturday, April 4, 2020, at Summer’s Chapel Cemetery in Worth County, where he will be laid to rest.
Born October 7, 1947 in Tifton, Mr. Ray was the son of the late Rufus Ray and Jeffie May Harris Ray. He was also preceded in death by one son, Eddie Ray, Jr. He was a self-employed mechanic.
Mr. Ray is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Ruben Arteaga of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Neil and Myra Ray of Tifton and Richard and Kay Ray of Sylvester; one step-son and his wife, Christopher and Melissa Barber of Sylvester; nine grandchildren, Jennifer May, Timothy May, Samantha Ray, Ashley Ray, Maria Arteaga, Sonia Lopez, Lane Ray, Destiney Ray and Kaycee Ray; and seven great-grandchildren, Jackelyn, Jannely, Xitlalli, Lesly, Katlyn, Kristopher and Emily.
