Mrs. Lillian Marie (Maness) Gray, a resident of Lowell, passed away at her home with family at her side on Tuesday, March 10, 2020. She was 77 years old.
She was born in Wilmington, North Carolina and moved to the South End of Boston with her family in her teens. She graduated from Brighton High School and moved to Davis Square, Somerville where she raised her family. Years later, she relocated to Listuguj, Quebec where she lived in a First Nation Mi’gmaq community. Eventually, she settled in Medford where she began her career at GEI Consultants, Inc. where she worked for many years as an HR Benefits Specialist. She loved her job because she enjoyed the opportunity to engage and help her co-workers. She met many of her lifelong friends at GEI. She was a loving, kind, and outgoing woman who enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends and her fur friend, chihuahua Ohana. She had many loving friends whom she cherished. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving Lillian are her daughter, Lisa Gray; grandson, Zachary Gray; nephew, Kenneth Pringle; long-time partner, Ronald Rheaume's children Brenda Rheaume-Wilson and Patrick Curtin and her beloved family members who reside in Listuguj, Quebec, Canada.
Lillian was predeceased by her parents, Bernice and Mary Ellen (Justice) Maness; husband, Joseph M. Gray; son, Joseph M. Gray Jr., sister, Shirley Love, nephew Kevin Love; and long-time partner, Ronald Rheaume and his son John Rheaume.
Her memorial service will be celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Friday, August 6, 2021, at 12:30 PM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visitation will be held in the funeral home, prior to the service, from 11 AM to 12:30 PM. Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Donations in Lillian’s memory may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
