Obituary

CHICOPEE – David P. Fournier, 60, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, March 27, 2020. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by all the memories he loved and cherished. He was born in Holyoke on April 2, 1959, a beloved son of the late Roland L. and Claire R. (Deslauriers) Fournier. He was raised in Chicopee, graduated in 1977 from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and lived here his entire life. He was employed in the Maintenance Department for the Multicultural Community Services of the Pioneer Valley, Inc. in Springfield. He was an avid golfer who loved hitting the links at the local golf courses. Most of all, he loved his family and his many friends. He leaves his three loving children, Amy M. Hatheway and her husband, David, of Tolland, CT, Timothy J. Fournier and his wife, Kimberly, of Chicopee, and Leighann Notarangelo and her husband, David, of Granby, CT; his five cherished grandchildren, Caitlyn Hatheway and Andrew Hatheway, Tanner Fournier and Jake Fournier, and Jack Notarangelo; his children’s mother, Cheryl A. Peltier and her husband, Russell, of Chicopee; his two dear brothers, Roland L. Fournier Jr. and his wife, Denise, of Chicopee and Gary R. Fournier and his wife, Brenda, of N. Rutland, VT; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and numerous friends. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his cherished nephew, Gary D. Fournier who was Called Home on October 3, 1980. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
