Eliot, Maine-Rene Eugene Paquette, 65, of Bolt Hill Road, died at his home Friday morning, February 10, 2006 after a brief illness. Born in Plymouth, NH on January 25, 1941, he was the son of the late Ernest J. and Rhenda B. (Lucier) Paquette.
Rene attended the Ashland, NH Public Schools and served in the United States Navy from April 1959 to April 1963. He was employed by the U.S. Government at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as an Electronics Mechanic and Production Shop Planner. He was later employed by Analysis & Technology, Inc. as an Inventory Technician following his retirement in 1993. Rene was a very talented woodworker who built toys and furniture for both friends and family. He also enjoyed reading about The Old West and took up computers in his retirement. Rene was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Rene was predeceased by three sisters, Marie Julie in 1947, Anne G. Larochelle in 1974, and Helen Brousseau in 2005.
Rene is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Alice (McNamara) Paquette of Eliot, ME, his daughter Tammi Maines and her husband William “Rick” of Sanford, ME, seven brothers, Bernard A. Paquette of Ashland, NH and Lake City, FL, Robert W. Paquette of Bennettsville, SC, Richard Paul Paquette of Franklin, NH, Joseph Ronald Paquette of Cordele, GA, and Tilton, NH, F. Andre Paquette of Laconia, NH, Ernest A. Paquette of Ashland, NH, and Raymond M-R. Paquette of Hebron, CT, two sisters, Lorette M. Thibeault and Paula F. Paquette both of Franklin, NH, two grandsons, Zachary and Alexander Maines of Sandford, ME. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Leo Larochelle and his wife, Celine of Manchester, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, 106 School Street, Franklin, NH at 10:00 a.m.; Rev. Raymond E. Gagnon celebrated the Mass. Inurnment took place within a niche at the Columbarium in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Rte 3, Boscawen, NH at 2:30 pm. There were no visiting hours.
