Mary B. (Duffy) Costa, 78, of Mattapoisett died Monday July 8, 2002 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph Costa, and daugther of the late James E. and Annie (Santos) Duffy.
Mrs. Costa was born in New Bedford and had lived in Mattapoisett for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Mattapoisett.
Survivors include 2 sons, James Costa and Dr. Joseph Costa, both of Mattapoisett; a sister, Helen Damon of Colorado; 4 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.She was the mother of the late Kathy Gomes and sister of the late Joseph Duffy and Catherine Martin.
Her Funeral Services and burial in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Mattapoisett, will be private. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Brain Tumor Society, 124 Watertown St., Suite 3H, Watertown, MA 02472.
