Olavo Alves (84) of Brockton died March 22nd in the Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston. He was the husband of Izaurinda Vieira Fontes Alves.
He was born in Sao Filipe, Fogo, Cabo Verde son of the late Manuel and Augustina (Vieira) Alves and was a farmer by trade. Olavo was a communicant of St. Edith Stein Church and loved to socialize with family and friends.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 3 daughters, Lea Palmer of Halifax, Helena Alves and Agostiniha Alves both of Brockton, 4 sons, Filipe Alves of Brockton, Manuel Alves of Portugal, Teodoro Alves of Brockton and Joao Alves of Cape Verde, 3 sisters, Antonia, Titia and Tchica Alves all of Cape Verde, many grand and 2 great grandchildren.
Due to the COVID-19 State, National Mandate and for the Health and Safety of the Community, Services for Mr. Alves will be held privately at the families convenience. Burial in Melrose Cemetery.
