Louise Christine Lachapelle (née Ciccone), 89, passed away at home in Smithfield on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Louise was born in Providence, RI to Alfiero and Lucia (Abruzzese) Ciccone, and grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY. Louise was a 1950 graduate of Bryant College and soon after moved to Smithfield, RI with her husband of 63 years, the late Charles A. Lachapelle.
Louise enjoyed her long drives with Charlie, which turned into lengthy trips around the region. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crafting, and was a den mother for Cub Scouts. Louise delivered product for the Fuller Brush company and was the bookkeeper and secretary at Lachapelle Oil and Heating, her and her husband’s oil burner service, for over 30 years.
She is survived by her brother Alec of Warwick, her sons John and James of North Smithfield and Wayne of Smithfield, her daughters Ann Simbron and Michelle Jackvony of Smithfield, and was also mother to the late Edward. She was the loving grandmother to twelve grandchildren: Amber, Thomas, Molly, Kryssa, Lindsay, Jenna, Charles, Mia, Alex, Haley, Vanessa, and Johnathan, and two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Mariana.
Private services were held at Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rhode Island SPCA.
