Sara Grace Paulk, 84, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Palemon Gaskins Memorial Nursing Home in Ocilla, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday, March 20, 2020, at Holt Baptist Church in Irwin County, with the Rev. David Biggers and the Rev. Jimmy Fennell officiating. Interment will follow in the Brushy Creek Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
Mrs. Paulk was born July 23, 1935, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Lenton V. & Eva Bates Pettis. She was a cosmetologist and owned and operated Uptown Beauty Shop for over 40 years. She enjoyed crocheting, going to church and gospel singing. Mrs. Paulk was a very active member of Holt Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, was the Sunday School director for many years and was a member of the Holt ladies’ group.
She is survived by her children: Gene & Susan Paulk of Irwin County, Ginny & Waldo Paulk of Irwin County and Lisa & Mike Davis of Coffee County; grandchildren: Robin Timmons, Jenni Lynn Taylor & James, Michelle Daniel and Cindy Dunlap & Darren; great-grandchildren: Gracie Giddens, Kaine Giddens, Payton Taylor, Mia Taylor, Hampton Timmons, Andrew Daniel, Tucker Daniel, Kenzie Dunlap and Dalton Dunlap; two sisters: Carolyn Brown of Ocilla and Patricia Phillips & Billy of Hawkinsville; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Pettis of Ocilla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Erris L. Paulk; a granddaughter, Randi Giddens; a brother, Vernon Pettis and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Brown.
