Obituary

CHICOPEE – Shirley G. (Beaulieu) Cote, 86, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, March 11, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life at Vero Health and Rehab in South Hadley surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on March 27, 1933, a beloved daughter of the late Albert and Mary Jane (Labranche) Beaulieu. She was raised in Holyoke, graduated from Holyoke High School and had lived in Holyoke before moving to Fairview in 1952. She was previously employed at Dinn Brothers in Holyoke and was last employed for 20 years as a Banquet Server at the Castle of Knights Meeting and Banquet House on Memorial Drive in Chicopee. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Fairview. During her leisure time, she enjoyed traveling and was a longtime member of the American Bosch Travel Club. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harold W. Cote Sr. who was Called Home on April 7, 2007. They were married on August 30, 1952 at the former Precious Blood Church in Holyoke and were blessed with over 54 years of happiness together. She leaves her three loving children, Harold W. Cote Jr. and his wife, Linda, and Dan R. Cote and his wife, Brenda, all of Chicopee and Lorie M. St. Andre and her husband, Roy, of Holland; her eight cherished grandchildren, Christopher Cote and his fiancée, Jen O’Grady, Ashley McGrath and her husband, Josh, Brooke Deren and her husband, Steve, Andy Cote and his wife, Andrea, Joy Kellen and her husband, Brian, Melissa Deren, Chase St. Andre and his wife, Carolyn, and Tyler St. Andre and his partner, Jenna Erickson; her 16 cherished great-grandchildren; her great-great granddaughter, Scarlett; her dear sister, Lorraine Buskey and her husband, Bob, of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended members of the Cote and Beaulieu families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her dear brother, Albert Beaulieu and his wife, Maria “Weibe”.
