FALL RIVER… Daniel J. Lovenbury, Sr., 72, of Fall River passed away March 11, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was the loving husband of Arlene B. (Simmons) Lovenbury to whom he had been married for over 40 years.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Arthur and Marguerite C. (Emond) Lovenbury and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
Mr. Lovenbury was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving as a Radioman on the USS William R. Rush DD714 and was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Fall River. After graduating from Msgr. Prevost High School, Daniel went on to work for over 30 years as an Electrician for the Fall River School Department before retiring in 2011. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge #118. Known to be a family man, he enjoyed going for long drives, watching movies, summer cookouts and spending time with his family.
Along with his wife, survivors include his sons: Daniel Lovenbury, Jr. of Fall River, Scott Lovenbury of Fall River and Brian Lovenbury of Fairhaven; his daughter: Karen Lovenbury-Sann of Fall River; 3 granddaughters: Kassidy, Bridget and Audrey his step-sons: Keith Simmons of West Kingston, RI, Christopher Murray of Gaitersburg, MD and William Murray of Fall River; and his step-grandchildren: Kelsey Simmons and Kevin Simmons. He was the brother of the late Anne Marie Lovenbury.
Calling hours will be held Monday from 5-8 PM as scheduled. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
Due to state sanctions, funeral services have been made private.
