Jesse L. Goodman, 81, of Nashville, died Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 10, 2006 in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Jack Perrin and Rev. Edwin Dillard will officiate with burial to follow at Hickory Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Coy Connell, Tracy Connell, Brody Duncan, Steve Goodman, Michael Goodman, Timmy Goodman, Jake Brooks, Rocky Stone and Don Gardner. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, February 9, 2006, at Bowen-Donaldson. The family will be at the Quality Inn, Rooms 144 and 146.
Mr. Goodman was born on July 6, 1924 in Berrien County, GA. He was the son of Rance Wright Goodman and Mille Sumner Goodman, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Allen Goodman; his second wife, Pat Benton Goodman; 1 daughter, Betty Browning; 2 brothers, Dorsey Goodman and Obie Goodman; and 2 sisters, Helen Dillard and Dorothy Turner.
Mr. Goodman is survived by 2 sons, J. L. Goodman of Ocilla and David Benton of Hawkinsville; 7 daughters, Pauline Howell of Nashville, June Cooper of Perry, Peggy Pastrano of Fitzgerald, Diane Sirmans of Valdosta, Anita Brady of Nashville, Nancy Flippo of Poulan and Janie Brooks of Nashville; 2 brothers, Avis Goodman of Chula and Wilbur Goodman of Enigma; 30 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
