Obituary

Betty Verdieu, 44 of Canton passed away suddenly on March 2, 2020. She was born on August 9, 1975 in Petion Ville, Haiti, the daughter of Barthony and Marie Louise (Jacquet) Verdieu. Upon migrating to Boston, MA with her family she attended Lewinburg middle school and graduated from Hyde Park High School. After high school she went on to obtain her license as a Certified Nursing Assistant, a medical assistant and phlebotomy certification, and her Cosmetology license. Obtaining her Cosmetology license was a dream come true for her because Betty loved being a hairstylist.
Betty is survived by her children Kevin Holness, Alex Holness, and Basha-Belle Barnett. Loving daughter of Barthony Verdieu and Marie Louise (Jacquet) Verdieu. Dear granddaughter of Jeanne Montissol and Hypolite Verdieu. Loving grandmother of Kaysi Fanny Holness, and Kevin Andres Holness II.
Sister of Frantz Verdieu and his wife Peggy, Jessie Verdieu, Marie L. Verdieu, and Vladimir Verdieu and his wife Wicline Saint Jean, Jessie Verdieu and Marie Verdieu.
Family and friends will Celebrate Betty's Life by gathering for Visiting hours on Saturday, March 14th from 9:00 until 11:00am in the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Hwy, Roslindale followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in St Angela's Church, 1548 Blue Hill Ave, Mattapan at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Interment private.
