Obituary

PANAGOPOULOS, DONNA LEE (JACKSON), born Sharon, MA September 11, 1953 passed from a brief illness on February 26, 2020 at the age of 66 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.
Donna was the daughter of the late George T. Jackson and the late Julia A. (Brown) Jackson and one of sixteen children. All ten of her brothers served in the armed services, and she was very proud of their dedication to our country. She was married to the late Charles Mark Panagopoulos formerly of Worcester, Ma. and together they had four children George T. Panagopoulos, his wife Suzanne B. (Rost) Panagopoulos of Leominster, Ma, Peter J. Panagopoulos III of Worcester, Ma, Jetta J. and Alexander S. Panagopoulos both of North Attleboro, Ma- all of whom she was very proud of. She is predeceased by her brothers George “Teddy” T. Jackson, Dale T. Jackson, Andrew H. Jackson, Keith O. Jackson, Bruce G. Jackson, Wayne S. Jackson, and her sister, Jetta J. Foley. She is survived by her brothers Joel C. Jackson, Roderick D. Jackson, Gary C. Jackson, Stephen K. Jackson, and her sisters Judith B. Sanders, Marilyn M. Lombard, Carol J. Jackson, and Cynthia L. Jillson. She was also survived by and loved her large extended family and many nieces and nephews.
Donna worked for many years in the food service industry including Sharon House Of Pizza, George’s Café of Brockton, Lloyds Pizza and More formerly of Worcester, as well as many others. She also loved her time at Raschel’s children’s clothing store in Foxborough. The last fifteen years Donna has had the joy of working as a Cafeteria Worker for the Roosevelt Ave School in North Attleboro. She loved working with her team as they provided nutritious meals for the children and shared in their little lives. She loved crossword puzzles, murder mysteries, drawing, she was an avid reader, loved spending time with her family and friends, and going out to eat. Mom’s real passion was always sharing love through her food, whether it was cooking big Holiday meals with her children, catering family events, or making goodies for her friends and loved ones. Everyone remembers Aunt Donna’s friend chicken, chocolate chip cookies (some with nuts and raisins, some without), baklava, and homemade raviolis. She loved joking around, laughing and doing whatever it takes to make you laugh, her huge smile and boisterous laugh were for sharing. She always had a quick wit and a cheeky sense of humor, with a sly smile to boot, in case you were wondering where us four children get it from- thanks Mamala! She gave all of her heart to her family- who will miss her dearly, they were with her every step along the way and never left her side to help her through her final moments.
Her giving spirit has not stopped with her passing, she has offered herself for clinical study so that others may be helped by that research. In lieu of flowers- she requested that donations be made in her memory to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA (https://give.brighamandwomans.org), or Roosevelt Avenue School Playground Fund RAPPG in North Attleboro, Ma 108 Roosevelt Ave. North Attleboro, Ma 02760. She did not want a wake or funeral; her family is working to arrange a celebration of life at a later date. Mom did not want any tears- she wanted everyone to do something nice for someone else, spread the love.
