Rita M. Desjardins, 70 of 400 New River Rd. in Manville died Sunday at home. She was the wife of Joseph D Desjardins. Mrs. Desjardins was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Herve Desaulniers and Colombe (Desmarais) Desaulniers Riopel. Mrs. Desjardins was an instructor for Tupperware for ten years, she then worked as a waitress for Gisele’s Restaurant in Lincoln for five years, Koch Manufactureing for two years and retired in 2005 as a receptionist after four years for the Lincoln Place.
Besides her husband she is survived by two sons Richard Champagne of Manville, Marcel Champagne of Suffield, CT, two step children George Conklin of Whitsett, NC and Tara Gonsalves of Lincoln, two brothers Henri Desaulniers of Crystal River, FL, and Raymond Desaulniers of Ajax, Ontario, Canada, a sister Jeanne Roy of Woonsocket and nine grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in St. James Church, Division St. in Manville. Burial will be held in Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland. Visiting hours are Thursday 5-8 pm.
