Helen (Michalski) Risoldi, 93, of Attleboro. Died on Tuesday, February 7th, 2006
at the Life Care Center in Attleboro, Mass. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Risoldi who died on Sept. 21st, 1982 and to whom she was married to for over 50 years.
Born in Boston, Mass on December 29th, 1912 – she was a dear daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Casper) Michalski.
She was educated in Boston schools. She was a retired teacher’s assistant having worked
at the Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton for several years before retiring. She was one of the first pioneers in educating the public about Cerebal Palsy and a volunteer for many years.
She was a former communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton. She was a member of the Massachusetts Association for Retarded Citizens. She was a member of The Hope Gardens Association where she resided.
Helen enjoyed gardening, reading, pets, and family get togeathers. She had made her home in Attleboro for the past 25 years, and was a former resident of Norton and West Roxbury.
She is survived by her loving children Robert Risoldi of Raynham and Gail (Williams) Palin and her husband David of Rumford, RI. Her cherished grandchildren Judi Williams of Rumford, RI, Jennalee Williams of Jamestown, RI, and Bobbi-jo Williams of Attleboro. Her great granddaughter Bree Ann Garrey of Rumford, RI. Her dear sister Laura Lawton of Dedham as well as her many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Louis McCalsky, Jennie Furnish, and Sophie Lombardo.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday, February 10th, at 9:00 A.M. from The Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton followed by a mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, South Worcester St. Norton. Burial will follow in The Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 9th from 4-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
Following the services on Friday, all are invited back to The Norton V.F.W. Post 8049
on Summer St. in Norton for a time of refreshments and fellowship.
