SAUGUS - Donald Wilcox, age 66, died unexpectedly at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital,Monday, July 8.
He was born in Everett, August 29, 1935, the son of Blanche (Savage-Wilcox) Brisendine ofTewksbury and the late Harold Wilcox. He lived in the greater Boston area throughout his life.
He was employed as an automobile mechanic and parts man at several area auto dealerships andauto parts supply stores. He retired from Rent-A-Tool in Revere last February.
He was the former Vice President of the Bearing Burners and Cyclone Car Clubs in Revere. Hehad a lifelong passion for classic automobiles and trains.
Besides his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Donna Lee Costin of Malden, SuzanneHeffernan of Lowell, a son, James Donald Wilcox of Lowell, six grandchildren, Robert HeffernanIII and Steven A. Heffernan both of Boxford, Tanner J. Heffernan of Lowell, Shannon Lee Riga ,Courtney Maris Costin and Caitlin Mae Costin all of Stoneham, a sister and brother-in-law,Patricia and Frank Boucher of Tewksbury, and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service was held Thursday, July 11, in the funeral home, followed by burial in Tewksbury cemetery.
