Obituary

LUDLOW – Conrad L. DesRochers Jr., 63, of Ludlow, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Holyoke Medical Center. He was born in Holyoke on January 17, 1957, a beloved son of Doris L. (Cote) DesRochers of Chicopee and the late Conrad L. DesRochers. He was raised in the Aldenville section of Chicopee, graduated in 1975 from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and moved to Ludlow with his loving family in 1996. Conrad was employed for many years as a trusted Collision Repair Technician for Western Mass Collision in West Springfield and was known by his many friends and co-workers for his meticulous auto body work. He enjoyed making people laugh with his many jokes and quick wit. During his leisure time, Conrad enjoyed NASCAR and NHRA Drag Racing. Most of all, he enjoyed working on his “prize” 1979 Corvette. Besides his beloved mother, he leaves his loving wife and soul mate, Cecilia M. (Burke) DesRochers. They were married on April 29, 1978 at the former Saint Mary’s Church in Willimansett and were blessed with over 41 years of happiness together. He also leaves his two loving children, Carrie M. DesRochers of Ludlow, and Cory J. DesRochers and his wife, Shayla, of Mountain Rest, SC; his grandson, whom he adored, Zachary Goddu of Ludlow; his four dear sisters, Diana Eldredge and her husband, Tom, of Chatham; Doreen Guyette of Chicopee; Donna Papageorge and her husband, Kevin, of Haydenville and Debra Peabody and her husband, Richard, of Indian Orchard; as well as his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends, coworkers and extended members of the DesRochers, Burke and Cote families. His funeral will be held on Monday morning, March 9, 2020 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 10 a.m.), followed by a Prayer Service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. His burial will follow the Service at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
