Obituary

Jeanne S. Broadwater died peacefully on March 3, 2020.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Storey Chapel of First Baptist Church of Augusta, with Dr. Will Dyer, Dr. Jim Walls and Rev. Andy Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

She was a faithful member and dedicated Sunday School teacher of First Baptist Church of Augusta, Georgia. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught school for 30 years and worked for Augusta Eye M.D. for 32 years. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, and watching the Georgia Bulldogs. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life and spending time with them brought her great joy.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Broadwater and friend,Joan Gore, Susan B. Jones (Jimmy), Lynn B. Brown (Glenn), Lisa Weathersbee (Tim), grandchildren, Scott Brown (Tiffany), Glenn Brown II (Lisa), Toby Brown (Ashleigh), Matthew Jones (Sarah), Lindsi Rhodes (Joshua), Paul Jones (Dallas), Heather Jones, and great grandchildren, Gavin Brinson, Tristen Brinson, Nicole Brown, Roe Brown, Campbell Brown, Collins Brown, Faith Brown, Baylee Brown, Selah Hope Brown, Ian Jones, Sutton Jones, Savannah Jones, Brooks Jones, Caleb Rhodes, MacKenzie Byrd, Tyler Byrd, Anthony Goodlett, and, Jaxsen Goodlett. She is also survived by her sister, Anne Miller Shultzberger, her sisters in law, Melvis Reeves and Brenda Wells (Pete), and a brother in law, Michael Broadwater (Nora).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tobias “Toby” Frances Broadwater, son, Paul David Broadwater, parents, Wade Talmadge Sprouse, Daisy Cawley Sprouse Wheatley, brother Wade Talmadge Sprouse, Jr., and Sister Ernestine Adams.

Pallbearers will be Scott Brown, Matthew Jones, Glenn Brown, Paul Jones, Toby Brown and Josh Rhodes.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, March 5, 2020 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
