Obituary

Mary C. (Devlin) Sullivan, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 87 years of age.

Mary was born in Boston on Christmas Day, December 25, 1932, a daughter of the late Michael Devlin and Margaret (McDevitt) Devlin. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School. Mary worked as a Program Coordinator for Housing and Urban Development under the Federal Government for over 10 years. She enjoyed traveling with family and knitting and sewing. Mary was also known for being a member of The Lovely Ladies of Monument Square.

Mary is the beloved wife of the late Donald E. Sullivan. She is the devoted mother of Maureen Hayward, Nancy Sullivan and her partner Richard Allen, Joseph Sullivan, Patricia Sullivan-Smith, Daniel E. Sullivan and his partner Michelle Jackson and the late Janet M. Sullivan who passed away on January 24, 2020. She is the loving Nana to Alyson, Scott, Ryan, Colin, Mairin and the late Michael. She is the beloved sister of the late Philip Devlin, John "Jack" Devlin and Joseph Devlin. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary's Funeral on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be on Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 2 to 6 P.M. in the funeral home.
