Worcester MA Fidel Montanez, 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2020 in Rose Monahan Hospice Home after a short battle with lung cancer. He leaves his children Wendy Sanchez Bernal, Krystle Bernal, Fidel Montanez, Orlando Montanez, Virginia Montanez, Andres Montanez, Damian Montanez, Frances Montanez, and Micheyla Montanez. He was predeceased by a daughter Shaghily Montanez .
Fidel was born in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico, son of Emilio Montanez and Genera Colon. He graduated from a Trade School and worked as a carpenter for over 40 years. Fidel known to most as Papo, was a loving, humble and kind human being. He loved the trade of carpentry and left his mark in many homes. No job was too big or small for him- he was a problem solver! Papo known to have his 40 and a nip of Sambuca in his hand enjoyed making bad jokes, watching cartoons and he loved zombie movies. He also enjoyed family time, spending time with his grandchildren, camping and singing. He will be missed by all but never forgotten, his imprint will always be in our memories and our heart.
