He was employed with Mid-South Central Extrusion Die Company in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He was retired from the Georgia Air National Guard after spending 21 years with the 224th Joint Communications Support Squadron in Brunswick, Georgia, which provided deployable tactical communications for Joint and Special Operations Task Force Headquarters. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a gifted carpenter, who loved building special pieces for family and friends. He will be remembered for his generosity, his love for his family and friends and his hugs.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to their Lenox Baptist Church family, employees and friends at Mid-South Central Extrusion Die Company, all the girls at Homestead Hospice and the entire community for their prayers, love and support during the journey.
