FALL RIVER – Barbara S. (Panchley) Leeman, age 92 of Fall River and formerly of Swansea, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020 at the Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Care Center. Born in Fall River, Barbara was the wife of the Louis A. Leeman Jr. and the daughter of the late Arthur & Ethel (Pearson) Panchley.
Barbara enjoyed traveling, doing needlepoint, reading, and listening to music. Most of all, she loved raising her children and spending quality time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her son Louis A. Leeman III (wife Miriam) of Swansea; siblings: Margaret Britland of Fall River and Joan Sousa (husband Lawrence) of Swansea; 5 grandchildren: Allana Allik, Erika Cashman, Jessi Slater, Jerilyn Karam-Kozak, Richard Leeman; 7 great grandchildren: Ivy & Hazel Allik, Angelina & Cassidy Cashman, Jayleigh Slater, Zoe Kozak, Mia Leeman; nieces and nephews. Barbara was the mother of the late Richard Leeman and the sister of the late Donald Panchley.
Barbara’s funeral service will take place in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc., 1521 N. Main Street, Fall River, MA on Friday, Feb. 28th at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Swansea. Calling hours will take place on Thursday, Feb. 27th from 5-8 P.M.
