Ernest A. Galante, Jr. “Sonny” passed away peacefully at the Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. He was 90. A life-long Medford resident, he was the son of the late Ernest A. and Lena (Lupo) Galante. Ernie served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War, reaching the rank of Sergeant. After his return from Korea, he was appointed to the Medford Fire Department and served his community faithfully for 32 years.
Ernest was the beloved father of James Galante and his wife Lisa and a loving grandfather to Dahlia, James, Julius and Oscar. He was the devoted brother of Joseph Galante, Joan DeVincent and the late Marie Ferrante. He also leaves many dear nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Wednesday, February 26th from 10 through 11 AM with a funeral service in the funeral home at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
